DEEP BREATH!

So, the show is up, as I'm sure any one reading this knows...
I feel like I have learned a lot from this process, a lot about myself and the individuals around me. This may be the first project that I feel truly proud to show; is it ironic that it is my first show in a gallery? I feel inspired to move forward with B. With the help of others, I believe there is a lot of potential. By the end of the semester, who knows where I'll be with this project!

I hope everyone feels good about our show - I do, and am grateful for the opportunities that I have been awarded throughout the process!

coming together

So, just quick, mini postings of a few of the visuals I will be having at my show. Final decisions are astrobrights paper (fuschia, blue, and lime green) print will be done using toner/copy machine fashion. 3 Large image posters mounted on white chipboard, a shelf or series of shevles under the posters. The shelf will hold the catalogs and postcards I have designed as well as 3 other smaller posters that have info about the campaign. A computer monitor will be set up running a collection of "individual reaction sites"  done by a group of BU web designers. Additionally, I will have vinyl text "Because true individuality can happen" and vinyl logos placed on the wall and floor surrounding my exhibit. Extra posters (full size) will be available for anyone to take as well as the catalogs and postcards.

The emphasis of this project is the individual and self awareness. Very vivid colors, a solid style, and the attitude of btich will hopefully all work to grab interest of visitors.

Snow Day

Here are some fabrics I scanned in to use with this project. They could be liners in the bags, change purses, even the fabric of the bag.

I've been working on some names for my bags and staying with the "B" theme, I've come up with the "Busy B" the "Bumpkin" and the "Bandit" bag. There are some amazing "B" words out there; bona fide, bully, bushwa, brief, bossy, black, bonzer, etc.

I'm really interested in marketing these bags as promoting "the individual" through self awareness and originality. Also considering redirecting BTICH to stand for other things... lots of exciting possibilities.

I also obtained the floor plan of the 301 Gallery and began figuring out the space I need (approx. 10 feet) and typed a page of words and phrases for a show title based on graphic design, first, leaders, process, and us as a team.

Finally, I have been closing in on the final designs for my 3 posters this past week and am excited to present the final 3 tomorrows for critique!
